When my laptop crashed, I had someone put my laptops information onto my desktop. My iTunes ( version 8.0.0.35 ) was included in this. For some reason, I can't get it to come up; it says it was made on a newer version of iTunes. I tried downloading the same version, but it wouldn't work because it said there was a newer version of iTunes on my computer. Is there any way I can retrieve my iTunes?
best answer is :
Uninstall Itunes completely from your computer (Just the Itunes files NOT THE MUSIC FOLDERS) Then go to this site to re-install. http://www.apple.com/itunes/overview/?ref=http://itunes.com After you have re-installed Itunes Click on it to start it up. If it does not automatically reload all of your music files, They can still be retrieved. Click on File at the top of the screen Then click on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. Then Click on MUSIC. Then scroll down to The Itunes folder. Click on it and scroll down to the Folder that says I TUNES MUSIC Click on it and if your music is still there, You can restore it by clicking on the select folder icon at the bottom of the box. If that does not work. Log onto your itunes account and send an email to the itunes support team and explain your situation. They can help you retrieve your music on line. But it is a lengthy process. And they will tell you to try the steps that I have outlined for you first. (I speak from experience).
